Introduction - Circuito do Estoril, located on the Atlantic coast of Portugal, hosts round 5 of the Virtual Endurance Championship. The 6 hours of Estoril is hosted on this tight and treacherous track, with 2.6 miles of slow corners, dangerous armco, and a long front straightaway that allows for slipstreaming. F1 last came here in 1996, however VEC takes over the track and its modifications for safety that have been instituted since the early '90s. Introduction - Sepang Circuit, near Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, hosts round 4 of the Virtual Endurance Championship, dubbed the 8 hours of Sepang. This Hermann Tilke-designed circuit displays many of the designer's well-known F1 features, including long straights into tight corners, fast sweeping sections, and designs that implement a sense of local culture, such as the trademark spectator stands between the two main straights. Introduction - Round 3 was the Brazilian circuit, described as between two lakes, or “Interlagos” which is also known as São Paulo. Four days before the event, race control declared no real weather and dry conditions for the race. Weather elements are only part of the story on this short but stubborn track with it’s complicated sector 2. A bit of a nightmare in multi-class racing due to it’s ever changing racing line from one corner to another. Introduction NOLA Motorsports Park is the host of round 2 of the Virtual Endurance Championship, the 6 hours of New Orleans. NOLA is a relatively non-descript track, spiced up with some high-speed corners and a crazy T8/T9 chicane on the back straight that becomes harrowing with traffic. The tight confines within the first and third sector make for difficult choices in handling traffic. Round 1 at Indy resulted in P9 for the #121 SHQM Oreca 07, earning 2 points and P9 in the season standings. Introduction - The first round of VEC Season 11 brings us back to the Indianapolis 2007 GP layout. It is a 1000 mile race which will take 385 laps or roughly 9 hours to complete. Drivers: Jon Uyan, Nic da Silva, Brian van Beusekom Qualifying Due to some unforeseen circumstances, Brian had to jump into the car at the last minute. Brian set a time exactly one second behind pole, which was only good enough for 10th place. Race Not much happened through the race. In the first stint, Brian was constantly on the tail of the Idos car, but was unable to make a pass.
