Recommended Posts

AC has an official in game app for comparing times with your Steam friends, so time to have a little fun!

You have 7 days to post your best time and see how you compare.

The next Challenge is:

Challenges > Hotlap: Lotus 98T @ Imola

Prerequisites

Game Settings

Launcher settings for ABS and TC must be set to FACTORY.

(once on track you can change the settings if the car allows it)

Stability OFF, Fuel ON

Penalties must be enabled

Before you can start posting laps you need to do two things (if you haven't already)

1. Activate the in game Friends Leaderbord. To do this, take to the track and move your mouse to the right hand edge of the screen to activate the apps sidebar. From here select the Friends Leaderboard (it's near the bottom)

You should then see a leaderboard similar to this. You can drag it round to a suitable position.

Once the app is active it will log your laps and list those of your Steam Friends.

2. In order to get an accurate set of comparison of times you will need to add people to your friends list. You should be able to find all of us at the SimHQ Motorsports Steam Group. Just send out friend invites to those taking part and when they accept you can see their times on your leaderboard.

I have most people already, but if you want to enter, please add me as a friend first (if you haven't already), then post a time. I'll periodically post my leaderboard in the following post so you can all see who you need to befriend. Hopefully after a short while we'll all be bosom buddies. cheers

Have Fun!!!

The challenge is open immediately and will expire exactly 7 days from the time of this post. smile

I think Darren is trying to kill us. Either that or it is some kind of training regime, like being made to sit outside the Shaolin temple for 3 days before you can go in, and then being subjected to painful excercises until you get it right!

Seriously though I'm looking forward to this one.

I tried it. I am 6 second off the top times registered in some previuos rounds of Challenge back in 2014. And I have no idea what to switch on get even half of that margin. I mean in theory I have an idea - go fast enough to keep the boost on and downforce working - by my brain just says "no, my friend, I am already overclocked"

Was there any material change in grip levels between early beta version we had then and current one? I think this was changing from version to version, but probably in range of 1 or 2 secs, no more...

Maybe it would be worth doing a makeshift table of this years times in any case. This is a fresh challenge after all. I say makeshift, because I'm not aware of a way to reset other peoples times in the app.

What do you think Darren?

Hmmmm, that's a good point Piotr. There's no way to reset the times for other people. If you are so far away that suggests there could have been some changes.

Lets try keeping manual tabs on this one. Post your times in this thread and I'll compile a list in the first post.

Nevermind, it seems the time are plausible according to RSR so we'll stick with it (thanks Piotr!)

Top times on RSR are from this year and they are in 22-24 range, so I don't think there was much of a change. I would not take a away anything from ColKurz Or Ahmad. I rememeber when it happened year ago, I was as far away as yesterday...

Maybe we can quickly switch to different track, so we have a clear timetable for that car? If someone practised the car already to good effect on Imola I am sure it will easily pay off on another track as well smile

Just sneaked ahead of you Piotr by a tenth or two duel I too can see another second or two coming off this time, but to get anywhere close to Ahmed and Col Kurtz will be tricky to say the least.

Did some laps today, trying to find some rythm in this car. I managed to drop my PB to 27,4
