So You Think You're Fast? AC Hotlap Challenge: KTM X-Bow @ Vallelunga

Recommended Posts

AC has an official in game app for comparing times with your Steam friends, so time to have a little fun!

You have 7 days to post your best time and see how you compare.

The next Challenge is:

Challenges > Hotlap: KTM-X Bow R @ Vallelunga

full-19230-51373-ac.png

Prerequisites

Game Settings

Launcher settings for ABS and TC must be set to FACTORY.

(once on track you can change the settings if the car allows it)

Stability OFF, Fuel ON

Penalties must be enabled

Before you can start posting laps you need to do two things (if you haven't already)

1. Activate the in game Friends Leaderbord. To do this, take to the track and move your mouse to the right hand edge of the screen to activate the apps sidebar. From here select the Friends Leaderboard (it's near the bottom)

You should then see a leaderboard similar to this. You can drag it round to a suitable position.

Once the app is active it will log your laps and list those of your Steam Friends.

2. In order to get an accurate set of comparison of times you will need to add people to your friends list. You should be able to find all of us at the SimHQ Motorsports Steam Group. Just send out friend invites to those taking part and when they accept you can see their times on your leaderboard.

I have most people already, but if you want to enter, please add me as a friend first (if you haven't already), then post a time. I'll periodically post my leaderboard in the following post so you can all see who you need to befriend. Hopefully after a short while we'll all be bosom buddies. cheers

Have Fun!!!

The challenge is open immediately and will expire exactly 7 days from the time of this post. smile

Bah, not this turd of a car.

Btw, anyone else having problems with their FFB with the KTM? Or is the wheel supposed to be oscillating?

I love this car and the FFB, with cars that have the oscilliating issue I tend to lower the gain a touch.

I have a 1:47.5 on RSR with this car and track (no abs/tc), driven in march. Can't I just submit that one?

it was worth a try, right?

Nice try! What happened in RSR, stays in RSR.

So get on the next flight to Rome. Your 'Crocodile' is waiting for you in nearby Vallelunga biggrin

Trust me after a such long season in VEC winning the championship with not the best car almost in the last half hour

of the 24H LeMan race this is relaxing. yep

By the way because iam new in Asseto my time is 1:46:965. Is this time a fast one or something just good?

Well the world record over at RSR is 1.44.418 thats just nuts, we have some genuinely quick guys around here but not world record quick AFAIK, but I'm sure they'll give you a run for your money!

Congratulations on your series win by the way winner

I love Vallelunga. Turn 1-2 has to be one of the most satisfying sections anywhere. So simple, but when you hit it just right...

The X-bow is so fun, but I rarely drive it. Why? Must be because it literally looks like $#!t. biggrin

I think it looks quite cool in an SF kind of way, not Ferrai beautiful for sure, but it seems well designed, every part seems to be there for a purpose, speed and control.

Piotr and Brun, I was almost doubting you were going to turn up, but I wasn't disappointed. You guys always seem to pop in and do some swift times at the last minute. Would love to see a replay of a 1.46.

Not such a last minute, I did my lap on Saturday evening. I wish I started earlier in a week, but was usually too tired after long workdays. And believe me it was not a case of popping in and doing a swift time banghead I did quite few attempts during Saturday (taking little brakes from Le Mans 24, every hour or so) until I found the right rythm for this vehicle.

Here is the replay I saved from that evening run. I hope this is the one with my PB.

Thanks, guys. This is my second one. First was also with KTM, over a year ago. I guess I just have more patience than others, for the 'crocodile' driving

Congrats P. You seemed so upset last time I beat you at the last minute I thought I'd better not repeat it!

That's actually a big lie. I never quite got to grips with how to drive the KTM, especially the difficulties of braking on the limit. My best combined splits would have given me a 46:7 but I struggled to find the consistency to put one decent lap together. Was hoping to at least get under 47 but the booze put paid to any further progress smile
