So You Think You're Fast? AC Hotlap Challenge: Lotus 72D @ Brands GP

Recommended Posts

AC has an official in game app for comparing times with your Steam friends, so time to have a little fun!

You have 7 days to post your best time and see how you compare.

The next Challenge is:

Challenges > Hotlap: Lotus 72D @ Brands Hatch GP

HOTLAP.JPG

Prerequisites:

Game Settings

Launcher settings for ABS and TC must be set to FACTORY.

(once on track you can change the settings if the car allows it)

Stability OFF, Fuel ON

Penalties must be enabled

Before you can start posting laps you need to do two things (if you haven't already)

1. Activate the in game Friends Leaderbord. To do this, take to the track and move your mouse to the right hand edge of the screen to activate the apps sidebar. From here select the Friends Leaderboard (it's near the bottom)

You should then see a leaderboard similar to this. You can drag it round to a suitable position.

Once the app is active it will log your laps and list those of your Steam Friends.

2. In order to get an accurate set of comparison of times you will need to add people to your friends list. You should be able to find all of us at the SimHQ Motorsports Steam Group. Just send out friend invites to those taking part and when they accept you can see their times on your leaderboard.

I have most people already, but if you want to enter, please add me as a friend first (if you haven't already), then post a time. I'll periodically post my leaderboard in the following post so you can all see who you need to befriend. Hopefully after a short while we'll all be bosom buddies.

Have Fun!!!

The challenge is open immediately and will expire exactly 7 days from the time of this post. :)

Yay I have an account again!

There is still some time to be made I'm sure but that one was a pretty solid lap. I am happy to post replays or videos of my laps like I did for BH if you think it would help you guys find time.

Back home, did 25,7   24,5. Still far from top. Brands is not my strong track and I still can't get confidence with this car in corners :ahoy:

Hoogs is getting close! Might have to give it another go tomorrow to see if I can make up some time.

I looked to see if I saved the replay of the posted lap but unfortunately I didn't save it. If I make up time tomorrow I will make sure I save it.

You win this one LilSki, I don't have time to give it another try. Plus I forgot to save my setup. I remember adding more wing, more camber, more tire pressure and more bump front and rear in the dampers.  Less fuel, softer tires and shorter gears. 35 coast in the diff, 20 preload and I don't remember the power setting. I lowered the car a couple clicks all around too.

Honestly I'm not sure I can do much better. There are a couple corners I've found a cleaner line but I'm pushing so hard that I can't get a clean lap LOL. Congrats!

I throw the white towel into pitlane. Cannot improve over my mid 24. I know where I am leaving time on track and I feel I leaving over a second in all 3 places I have issues with.  But knowing what to do and being able to do it is a different story. I did not found the setup to get this car balanced as I would want it.

But netherless this was a lot of fun to drive 72D on BH. Looking forward to nech challenge.

Grats to Lilski and Hoogs for their laptimes in 1:23s.

This challenge has now closed.  Congrats to Lilski (again!) for a stunning laptime.

Well done to hoogs and Piotr for getting close.  Thanks to all who posted times.  This one was quite popular. :)

As lilski chose last time, I'm going to give Hoogs the pleasure of nominating the next combo as a reward for getting so close (yet so far).

@Hoogs, would you like to suggest a car/track combo for the next challenge please?

I see how it works around here ;)

As for setup all I did was take one click of rear wing off and changed the gears so i didn't have to use 1st gear in T2. The rest was all stock.

That all come crawling back sooner or later ;)

Looking at previous list it looks like you haven't done Donington National especially since it's been updated. And I think the 190E EVO II would be great there.
