  1. Hey Guys, Doug has kindly let me promote AMS events here so the idea I had to have inter-club races, inspired by watching the Goodwood Members Event this year, has begun to grow. Basically the idea is to assemble a small team to race for their race clu' from the regulars racing under the facilities of a forum just like SimHQMotorsports here, i.e. the race club. There will be a series points table for the participating clubs (this is not an individual driver based system), so points would be awarded on the basis of the top say 4 from each club team scoring points. There will be a number of events over a few weeks for the overall competition to decide a winner (as in Forum/Race Club). So far I spoke to the admin at REVS and he contacted another admin at PRC (another forum based club of racers) and we have tentatively begun to make arrangements for the first event next month. This has been earmarked to start 11th May (this first event will be run on thursday nights, race time around 9pm BST) and will run weekly for 5 weeks. Apart from those two stipulations nothing is written in stone just yet as the details get sorted out. So is there anyone here who would be interested in the first of this series or even any future ones and getting a club team together? I think for this first event, it has been decided to allow points for the top 3 drivers of each team, so a minimum of 3 team members would be needed in order to score maximum possible points for their race club.
  2. Are there any DRS points on this track? none of the KERS/DRS seems to be available going by the on screen widgets. re: change of car, are you thinking of this?
  3. Hey @Mudcat any chance of an update? You've had a good 3 months now since your first report, hopefully you'll have a more thorough experience to recount.
  4. If you can see the gears move without touching the paddles, doesn't that indicate you have an 'auto' box for those two cars?
  5. What about the Lotus Exos 125 Stage 1? from the official description and this is standard content, not a mod.
  6. I make that 14 entrants so far a lot less than original series so is there a chance this might turn into a single class series after all? Personally I will not be choosing a GT3 again but I'm more than happy to change to the P2s.
  7. Hey nhill40, same here. I so know the taste of that pill too.It reminds me of when you get a bit of sick in your mouth.
  8. This is such a shame, could have been a really fun series. Just to let you all know, there is still interest in A.C. At REVS a couple of weeks back we had 18 turn up for our Weds night A.C. club race, two classes at Spa and only 7 of them were regular members. We have another multi-class race this Weds night if you're interested using the recently updated (and free) mod from IER. (The DNFs shown in the results were due to ptracker/stracker not yet supporting timed races), yes we had a timed race in A.C. But about the problem of commitment to racing, I really don't know. It seems to be worsening. though I hope I'm mistaken. The best chance seems to be with groups who socialise as well as race together (on-line of course) like here and at REVS. Its a pity we can't get admins together to arrange some inter-club competitions. a single event, or multi-race event of some kind or even a number of events like over a full weekend or even shortish championships (a race every two weeks) between two or even more clubs to help bump numbers.
  9. I can report for me that the skin selection does indeed work. And very good it looks too
  10. Very nice Doug very nice indeed. I confirm too.
  11. Fuji - yes Mid Ohio yes Watkins Glen yes yes yes Rouen yes yes Monza yes those would be my choices.
  12. not_him_59 Car #14 (from Supercup Skinpack) Where do I find that?
  13. To be fair to the mod, I complained about the GT cars and failed to find any car that I could get a good feeling with. That is not the case with the P2 models which I do find really nice to drive and to work on a setup so I can see why George praises it so, because IMO he is correct, but only about the LMP2 cars. I would really like to attend this race if it takes place and have already chosen a P2 to race with this time and with the setup I developed for it last year it really is lovely to drive.
  14. note: moved from wrong thread First having read the thread about funding I've removed my adblocker for this site. What I would like to know is what is the real cost per person on average for a years simracing regarding server and support costs here? i.e. if the costs are divided up amongst the active members here, what would be a realistic amount to donate? On to the race. I've honestly struggled really badly with the Enduracers mod regarding the feel/feedback of what the car is doing and in being able to find a nice setup that I have some confidence in. Alas I've not been able to achieve that with this mod and IMHO it is the mod at fault. So overall the experience has been less than wished for. On the plus side, having a decent number of entries per race makes a huge difference for me and has had me returning for more despite the drawbacks already mentioned. I've got mixed feelings about the racing itself as I have to say that not many prototype drivers seem to know how or at least attempt to make clean overtakes of the slower class cars. Sadly this race for me was as bad as my last race in the VEC in which I decided it was just not fun being constantly put into dangerous and precarious situations by poorly thought out manoevers and I withdrew from that championship and almost stopped racing entirely. It might look exciting on screen, but when you are the slower driver having your racing line suddenly taken away from you constantly or you get divebombed into a turn, or you have a prototype right on your ass and you don't know which way they will go and you make errors because of having to watch in your mirrors instead of what is ahead...Racing is not only about going fast, an essential but limited part overall, at least for me, it is more about on track attitude and proper respect for everyone that has a right to be on the track too. But you will likely only know this because you are one of the slower drivers too. Some of the moves put on me in this race left me shaking my head in disbelief and with one particular racer who ruined the end result for me in this race with his contact on me following a completely illegal move. Moan over having said all of the above, I'm still keen for more racing now and into the future, like the coming German series, so fingers crossed and sorry for the moan, but a big and genuine thankyou to the race organisers for hosting the events, without your dedication we would have no racing.
  15. Such a shame Doug there is so little interest. For any that do want to race with AMS, we still have weekly thurs night AMS club races at REVS, just look for the server name beginning 'revs-'. Races start at 9pm GMT and are usually 30-45 mins. See you guys later today.
  16. I've now found a new home for my old rig, it's being collected this weekend.
  17. Hey Guys, My old GTOmega cockpit has become available because I received delivery of my new rseat today! so probably only of interest to folks in the UK, but the GTOmega is up for anyone who will collect it, free as in free. There is nothing wrong with it, it is less than two years old but it was the best solution for me at the time of purchase, now I want something more suited. My only complaint about it is that it is not rigid enough. You can see what they are like, the seat frame and the steering wheel stand are separate but bolt together, but can easily be taken apart if you need to dismantle for space or whatever. There is also a triple monitor stand that goes with it which is also included. Just so you understand, I'm arthritic so the best I can do with these items is to tie them into bundles and make them available for collection only. Hope someone can find a good home for them. :thumb: edit: chair not included.
  18. Sure, the chair is not included, sorry if I didn't make that clear, I'll edit it now, but the one I'm using is also a GTOmega product.
  19. @Piotr here you go.
  20. I agree with Richard. I know it's tough if you are the one who cannot get a good lap in but isn't that a part of the realism too?
  21. That was tremendous. Pretty hard for an aging git like me, especially after the rain. The problems with controlling the throttle really came home to roost and it almost became impossible to not spin up the tyres in those slow turns and I did have several spins but lucked out without collecting any damage. Also found my braking setup was not very useful in the wet as the fronts just locked solid a couple of times down Mulsanne to the first chicane. That I know I could sort out with buttons for BB. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this event and was happy to finish and climb three places too. Well done to the winners your pace was unreal. and a big thanks to the organisers too.
  22. Like Piotr, I have lower back pain issues today but still intend to race at this point. Hopefully I'll complete the race, but just in case sorry if I have to retire.
  23. Phew, I've been at this all afternoon and half the evening. anyway I've added in a touch of TC which helps with the throttle control problem and I'm ready to go. but I haven't found any more pace. see you on track guys.
