Introduction The final race of the 2017-2018 Virtual Endurance Championship brings the teams to the historic Le Mans circuit for the epic, twice around the clock 24 Hours of Le Mans. This mix of dedicated circuit and paved country roads has hosted endurance races since the 1920s. The track is unforgiving, the weather tends to be unforgiving, and cars can fail at any moment. Just ask Toyota, minutes away from winning the 2016 edition of the race. The #29 has struggled at the last three events, a victim of bad luck that has caused poor finishes. Our LMP2 will be wheeled by four drivers, from all corners of the globe; Greg Hall, Jon Uyan, Brian van Beusekom, and Nic da Silva. (more…)

2018 VEC Sebring – LMP2 #29

Introduction - Race 7 of the Virtual Endurance Championship takes us to the "sunny" state of Florida for the 12 Hours of Sebring. The historic Sebring circuit hosted its first race in 1950 and has hosted endurance races like the infamous 12 Hours of Sebring on its bumpy surface ever since. We will roll four drivers in the car today; Greg Hall, Jon Uyan, Brian van Beusekom, and Jordy Zwiers. Race Clutch threatens to run away with the season points, sitting on 106 points. MVRE has 86 points, SHQM follows with 74, and SpeedyMite 67.  30 points go to the victor. (more…)

Introduction - After last weeks weather stricken VLMS race our eyes on Britain's forecast, and it does look like a repeat of what we saw last Saturday. There is a 50% chance of precipitation which means anything is possible with the way the weather app worked the past two races. Jon is working on a wet setup, dry setup, and a hybrid setup to have all the cards ready depending on what we are dealt with last minute going into the race. A big concern. We will be serving 4 drive-through penalties acquired in the Interlagos race and not sure how negatively it will affect our race. (more…)

Introduction - Coming from 3 consecutive podium finishes and being in top 4 in all four races of the 2017-2018 season, #29 Simhq Motorsports LMP2 crew is getting ready for the famous Interlagos circuit. Setup will be a challenge for this race as there is as always rain chance. Last year there was an unexpected quick rain shower in the last third of the race even though the forecast was mostly sunny. Introduction - After 3 races and sitting pretty in P3, 14 and 4 point gaps to top runners respectively, we will be trying to close the gap to top runners while staying ahead of the chasing pack.
